Race for the Cure 2011

What an amazing day!  Save Ourselves had a great turnout at this year’s Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.  All these lovely ladies showed up bright and early on Saturday, May 7th, 2011, to either run or walk the 5K course at Sacramento’s Cal Expo.  Luckily the sun decided to show up not too long after we took our group photo.  Much thanks to Cass for organizing this year’s team and handling the logistics for everything!

See all those bright pink shirts and caps?  Those are worn by our survivors, proving that yes, we can Save Ourselves!

This is great! I hope we can get a conversation going here. I’ve been trying to update the Save Ourselves website and link it to this blog and to other online resources. One thing I learned in that process is that the SOS phone number 984-9379 is no longer good! The current number is 786-HOPE.

I understand there were around 20 people at Wednesday’s Open Door Meeting to hear Dr. Amy Wandel speaking on breast reconstruction. If any of you have suggestions for speakers at upcoming meetings, please let me or Cass know.

    • Doris – We really appreciate your help! Thank you for pointing out the problem with the phone number, hopefully everything is up to date now. And for everyone else, please feel free to leave suggestions for future speakers or topics with Cass or Doris, or here in the comments.
